US Airforce Saber Drill Team Sword with scabbard

Specification:

Guard: 

Consists of pommel (globe), grip and crossguard, made of solid brass casting. 

The finish is antique silverplated with clear varnish. We use real silver.

The crossguard bears the drill team crest on the frontside and the crest is crisp.

The grip is solid brass casting and tightly connected to the crosspiece with a special technique recently invented. No unwanted movement of the parts.

The blade tangue is fixed with an extra nut sitting underneath the globe so that the handle won´t rattle.

Blade:

A forged blade made of nickelplated carbon steel (springsteel), hardened to approx. 48-55 ° HRC Rockwell, hand-ground and polished to a mirror like finish.

Dimensions approximately 760mm x 20 x 5mm  (30 inch length)

The blade tang goes through the crosspiece and handle into the pommel (full tang sword)

Acid Etching: 

Traditional acid etch on the frontside of the blade (US Air Force Academy), manually made.

Scabbard:

Nickel-plated stainless steel tube, seamless, hand-polished, with antique silver-plated brass fittings and carrying hook. The silverplated components are varnished with a clear lacquer.

Packaging:

Individual blue cloth bag with drawstring and WKC certificate of authenticity, maintenance instructions.
