In November 2005, WKC purchased the toolings of Wilkinson Sword Ltd. for production of various ceremonial swords incl. the General Officer Scimitar Sword.

  • A forged stainless steel  blade hammered to the correct curvature. It is hardened to ca. 48-52° HRC Rockwell, then well-temepred and hand polished. Both sides are etched with the official General Officer Scimitar Sword pattern and Ghana coat of Arms. The acid-etch is so deep, that one can feel it with a fingernail. Dimension of the blade is ca 800 mm x 25.5 x 6 mm.

Officer's saber for the Italian Army School in Modena

Guard:

Consists of cap, screw, ribbon and hilt. Cast from solid brass, hand-ground and nickel-plated.

Handle:

Handle made of black ABS plastic, polished - acid-resistant.

Blade:

Epee blade forged from stainless steel, hardened to 48-52° Rockwell and hand-polished.

The blade tang goes through the handle and is screwed to the top of the cap.

Both sides of the blade are decorated with an old acid etching process that creates engravings so deep and durable that you can feel them with your fingernail.

The etching template corresponds to the official blade etching of the Italian military school.
